Equalities Forum

The main purpose of the Shropshire Partnership Equalities Forum is to represent the views of Shropshire's diversity and equality communities.

The Equalities Forum meets every three months. Notes of the last meeting are available as a download on this page.

Forthcoming meeting dates are as follows:

• 16 September 2008, 2pm, at Shropshire Education & Conference Centre
• 2 December 2008, 2pm, venue to be confirmed

The Forum has launched an Awards Scheme which aims to:

• Combat hate crime and racism in Shropshire
• Support initiatives to raise awareness of equality issues
• Build capacity of smaller groups serving the BME and other equality communities
• Support local events and activity to celebrate equality and diversity

Awards, to a maximum of £1000, are available to local communities, small voluntary organisations and other new or established groups serving communities in Shropshire (excluding the Telford & Wrekin area). The deadline for the next round of applications is Friday 10 October 2008.
