The Rural Regeneration Zone

The Rural Regeneration Zone (RRZ) is one of six Regeneration Zones established by the regional development agency, Advantage West Midlands, to direct investment into areas of most need within the region.

The RRZ has been charged by Advantage West Midlands to develop and implement a programme of economic regeneration that achieves lasting change for those who live and work in the area.

Large parts of Shropshire are covered by the RRZ. Issues that are of particular concern to the RRZ include wage and skills levels, access to services and access to business opportunities.

The RRZ is led by a Board representing the public, private and voluntary sectors.

Shropshire Partnership has two RRZ Board members, Carolyn Downs of Shropshire County Council and Sharon Gray of the Learning & Skills Council.

The following information on the RRZ is available from this page:

  • Zone Implementation Plan for 2006-2009.
