Primary Schools and the School Library Service

The following resources may be borrowed by each class in a subscribing school.

Topic/Resource collections
Each class may borrow 30 items for 1 term, to include books, big books, group reading sets, videos and DVDs, CDs, posters and picture packs. Occasionally boxes have to be restricted to 20 items if the subject is in great demand.

Classroom reading books
These are issued on an exchange basis only. The allocation is 2 books per child on roll. They can be exchanged as often as needed from the School Library Service or from the mobile library which visits schools.

Teachers may also borrow the following for limited periods:-

• Artefact boxes/Museum-in-a-Box. Various charges for 2 week loans
• Storysacks
