Withdrawal of Core Strategy and Mineral Resources DPDs from the Examination Process
As a result of advice received from the Planning Inspector appointed to examine the Core Strategy and Mineral Resources DPDs, Shropshire County Council has reluctantly decided that it has no choice but to request the Secretary of State to withdraw the plans from the Examination process.

More information on the withdrawal of these documents can be found by following the link to the Independent Examinations page.

The County Council are currently developing a revised timetable for the development of the Local Development Framework which should be published shortly as part of the Local Development Scheme.

Submission document
The Core Strategy was prepared under the new planning arrangements introduced by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, and when adopted will act as the overriding planning document concerning mineral and waste development in Shropshire. The Submission copy of this document was submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination of its ‘soundness’ in October 2006. The Submission stage followed the preparation of an Issues and Options Report in July 2005 and a Preferred Options Report in February 2006. All these documents can be downloaded by following the relevant attachments on this page.

To accompany the Submission Core Strategy a Sustainability Appraisal Report, a Pre-Submission Consultation Statement, and the Proposals Map were also prepared. All these documents can be downloaded by following the relevant attachments on this page. You can find more information about sustainability appraisal by following the relevant link on this page.
