Competition terms and conditions

The summer 2008 issue of 'Shropshire', Shropshire County Council's residents' magazine, contains three competitions, offering readers the chance to win som great prizes.

Competition 1: Win one of two compost bins - see page 4 of the magazine.

Competition 2: Win two adult tickets to Acton Scott Historic Working Farm - see page 10

Competition 3: Win one of two family tickets to Secret Hills Exhibition at Shropshire Hill Discovery Centre - see page 11.

On this page you will find the terms and conditions of entry for each of the three competitions.

1. Compost bin competition

Terms and Conditions:

1. By entering this competition you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and understand that non-compliance may result in disqualification.

2. No purchase is necessary

3 You are eligible to enter a Competition if you are:

- a UK citizen or a legal resident of the UK at all times during the Competition;

- 18 years old or older on the 18th of July 2008

4. To take part in the compost bin prize draw, entries must be received by 18 July 2008. The winners will be notified by 25 July 2008.

5. To enter, simply send your name and address on a postcard to;

The Editor, Shropshire Magazine, Communications Unit, Shropshire County Council, Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury. SY2 6ND.

6. The prize is

- One of two compost bins.

7. There is no cash alternative.

8. Only one entry per person can be submitted.

9. Proof of postage is not proof of delivery.

10. No bulk entries or entries from third parties will be accepted.

11. The prize winners will be randomly drawn from among all entrants who have validly entered the competition

12. The winner’s name and town will be available from the Editor at the above address on receipt of a stamped self addressed envelope after the 25 July 2008.

13. The winner will be notified personally by Shropshire County Council on Shropshire County Council letterhead, when the prize will be included.

14. Shropshire County Council’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

15. We reserve the right to feature photographs and the names and towns of prize winners in future publications and publicity.

16. The promotion is not open to employees of Shropshire County Council or their families or associated agents.

17. The promoter is Shropshire County Council, Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, SY2 6ND

18. Exclusions of Liability

- Except in respect of death or personal injury caused by its (or its employees or agents) negligence Shropshire County Council expressly disclaims any responsibility and each entrant hereby agrees to release and to hold Shropshire County Council (its employees or agents) harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with any prize or resulting from the delivery, acceptance and/or subsequent use or misuse of any prize.

19. Shropshire County Council (its employees or agents) are not responsible for any condition caused by events beyond its control that may cause the competition to be disrupted.

20. Shropshire County Council reserves the right to terminate or suspend the competition without notice at any time and for any reason.

2. Acton Scott competition
