Where to find Shropshire Archives
Please check any links made to this page.

We are located on Castle Gates, in Shrewsbury, just 200 metres up the hill from the railway station. The Reference Library and Shrewsbury Lending Library are both close by. If you would like to see or print out an enlarged version of the map above, please download the attachment on this page.
Getting to Shropshire Archives
By bus: the Shropshire Archives building is opposite stand S at the bus station. Follow the steps around the building to the public entrance.
By train: the railway station is only a few minutes walk away. Simply walk up the hill (Castle Gates) towards the town centre and look out for the archway on your right, next to the Reference Library. Go through the archway and you will see the entrance to Shropshire Archives.
By cycle: four cycle stands are provided near the entrance to Shropshire Archives.
By car: we recommend use of the Park and Ride services from Harlescott, Meole Brace and Oxon. The buses stop close by (by the railway station). The nearest car parks are at Raven Meadows and in Howard Street (the railway station car park).
If you are disabled: we have two parking spaces for disabled users outside our public entrance in Castle Gates. If you would like to reserve a place, please phone our Customer Service Centre on 01743 255350.
Please note that there are road works on Castle Gates and throughout the town centre, beginning in April 2008. There is currently access to the entrance of Shropshire Archives but there are likely to be significant delays entering and leaving the town and the route of the one way system has been changed. Any updates to the Park and Ride services will be shown on their website (please follow the link).
